The Healthiest Kiwi Juice!

Kiwi fruit

The Kiwifruit, sometimes shortened to kiwi and also known as the Chinese gooseberry is an egg-sized berry from the genus Actinidia. It has a brown, velvety grind with a strikingly gorgeous flesh. This is one of those really attractive and brightly-colored fruits with unique flavor. Its flesh is of a beautiful shade of emerald neatly lined with tiny, black, edible seeds. The kiwi’s taste varies from sweet to tart and because of this unique taste, it is perfect for garnishing and salads.

This bird is similarly brown just like its fruit and is the national symbol of New Zealand. The kiwifruit was originally named Chinese gooseberry where it originated but was immediately changed for export purposes into melonette. When New Zealand exporters brought the fruit, they renamed it once more into the kiwifruit.

Today, the kiwifruit is well-known in most parts of the world, especially in New Zealand.  It has been used in beauty products because of proven studies of the fruit’s benefits for the skin.

How To Pick Fresh Kiwis

If you are planning to make fresh kiwi juice, you need some tips on how to choose the right kiwis as well as how to store them in the right way. Since kiwifruits are known to be extremely beneficial, people are gradually including them in their diet and the best way to include them is by making a refreshing and delicious kiwi juice. Eating them raw would also get you the same benefits but making its juice sure is a lot more fun.

In picking and choosing your kiwis, make sure to pick the sweetest, fullest-flavored, fragrant kiwifruits you could possibly find in supermarkets or in your own garden. To test your kiwis, gently press them and if they yield slightly just like ripe peaches, then you’re good to go. If they are too soft they might already be a little rotten.

However, if you’ve already picked unripe or firm kiwis, store them in a paper bag with an apple, pear, or banana inside for faster ripening. Make sure to put them at room temperature far from direct sunlight and heat. Storing ripe kiwis is a little bit different than storing other fruits; you should put them away from other fruits because kiwis are sensitive to the ethylene gas fruits emit. This would overripe the kiwis and would then cause discoloration.

Where can I purchase some Kiwi juice that ia already made? Does anyone put out kiwi juice concentrate. I have had Kiwi juice mixed with lemonade and feel that even that is beneficial. That is put out by Taste of the Islands: Calypso.
Any help with this question, as to where I can purchase kiwi juice, would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,

Hi Sue, try this one? It says it’s 100% natural, I just hope it’s really kiwi syrup not just kiwi flavored.

  3. Jesse says:

Great article! I was in Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics and kiwi juice was the thang! Most places flavored it with the syrup, but deep within the walls of the Forbidden Palace, there was a food and drink stand that offered the real deal. No other place that I can find has offered the kiwi drink I experienced in that small tucked away stand. I’m hoping to find the recipe some day.
